Please note - The In-Home rates apply to ALL students who have their lesson in their home. With gas prices being as they are, the policy had to be adjusted.

Dr. Phillip W. Serna's Private Lesson Policy

Lesson Payments – Unless already discussed, all lessons are to be paid in full on the first lesson of every month. Some students are pay-by-week. A penalty will be incurred if lessons are not paid for by the end of a monthly lesson period. If there are any problems please contact me promptly.

Canceling & Rescheduling Lessons – You need to cancel or reschedule a lesson, please do so no less than 48 hours before a lesson is to occur or you will be charged for that lesson. Absences do occur due to illness, emergencies, death in the family, etc. Those will be dealt with on a case by case basis. Each student gets one missed lesson grace-period. After that a penalty will be incurred. All lessons that are cancelled by the teacher will be offered a make-up lesson or credited to the student's following month’s payments. If there are any problems please contact me promptly.

Music for Lessons – Please have all music and materials ready for the lesson. If this is not possible, please contact me promptly. Texts to include Simandl – New Method Books 1-2 (Carl Fischer), Vance – Progressive Repertoire Books 1-3 (Carl Fischer), Petracchi – Simplified Higher Technique (Yorke), Flesch Scale System (Carl Fischer), Zimmerman – A Contemporary Concept of Bowing & Reid – The Evolving Bassist (Jazz).
