Transcriptions of Early Music for Double Basses for the International Society of Bassists Convention Historically Informed Performance Symposium at the Eastman School of Music, Rochester, NY:

Baroque transcriptions have become important staples of our double bass repertoire. From sonatas by Marcello, Vivaldi and Eccles, to the cello suites of Johann Sebastian Bach, many of these works have become central to orchestral auditions as well as solo recitals worldwide. Using research on performance practice, you can infuse a great amount of color and rhetorical depth into your Baroque solos. Join me as we explore how Baroque dance forms, Baroque bowing, historical treatises and knowledge of figured bass and harmonic motion can dramatically transform your performances, using Historically Informed Performance (H.I.P.) to help make your solos more exciting and articulate.
